Cracking down on teens? Opinions from moms please?
With texting and the internet so popular now, more and more teen girls are taking lewd pics of themselves and posting them online without regard for their own safety or the law. Anyone they sent those pics to is automatically guilty of looking at child porn in the eyes of the law because that photo subject is under 18. People forgot that the term child is applied when teens are involved.
I recently read a news story where the teen girls who took the pics of themselves where charged with making and distributing child pornography (even if it was of themselves). The judge was fairly harsh on them because he wanted them to understand the severity of what they had done.
In a case such as this, I want to know how many parents, and other teen girls, feel this was right? Who thinks these girls should be charged under the same law as the worst of the sex offenders and who thinks these matters should be left up to the parents?
Connor: I only used girls as an example because that is what happened in the case I referred to. I know boys are just as bad, if not worse. you raised a very good point. One really has to wonder at what point should a line be drawn with Facebook, MySapce, photo texting etc…
